Speaker 1:

Here is something surprising. According to studies, guys, around 50% of people regularly deceive themselves about their personal abilities and skills. So imagine that, yeah, half of us are not fully honest with ourselves. But here is the thing about it with ourselves, but here is the thing about it. So self-deception can hold us back from reaching our full potential. So let me ask you now how honest are you with yourself? Do you truly see your strengths and weaknesses, or do you tell yourself stories just to feel better? You know, today we are talking about the power of self-honesty and how it can transform your journey to success. Hi guys, my name is Fabio from Journey to Success, and welcome.

Speaker 1:

Being honest with yourself is one of the most important steps to personal growth, but it is also one of the hardest ones. Why? What is the reason? Because it forces us to face uncomfortable truths. It's easier to say you know, I didn't get the promotion because my boss doesn't like me, or something like that, instead of admitting maybe I didn't put in my best effort at test the reality. Self-honesty is more than just admitting when you're wrong. It's more about understanding who you truly are. It means looking at your strengths and weaknesses with a clear eye and making decisions based on that reality. When we are honest with ourselves, we open the door to growth. That's what we need to achieve success. It is the foundation of self-awareness and success. So in today's episode, guys, I want to explore why self-honesty is so important and how we can practice it daily. But, as always, before to go forward, please subscribe and in this way I can drive you, lead you and guide you towards your journey to success. And let's start. Let's start.

Speaker 1:

So the challenge of being honest with ourselves often comes from fear. Fear of vulnerability often comes from fear. Fear of vulnerability, fear of judgment or fear of failure, especially fear of failure. We might avoid looking too closely at our mistakes because it's painful and you know, society also is not the best. Here Also plays a big role. We live in a world where perfection looks the key to succeed, you know, but it's far from the reality. So many of us wear masks, pretending to be someone we're not to fit into what we think society expects. This pressure can lead us to ignore our true feelings or desires, pushing us into decisions that are not right for us. Maybe you have stayed in a job you hated, for example, or in a relationship that wasn't working. You know, just because you didn't want to admit to yourself that something needed to change. This avoidance is what keeps us stuck. Another problem is the stories we tell ourselves. All right, that's also another problem. We create narratives that protect our ego narratives that protect our ego. For example, when things go wrong, it's easy to blame outside factors rather than looking inward. But when we avoid self-honesty, we also avoid growth. That's the reality.

Speaker 1:

So what happens when we embrace self-honesty? First, it improves our self-awareness. When you are honest with yourself, you can clearly see your strengths and weaknesses. This awareness allows you to make better decisions, both in your personal life and in your career. Instead of going after something that doesn't align with your skills guys, you can focus on what you're truly good at. This honesty leads to better choices. Take relationships, for example. When you are honest with yourself, you can also be honest with others. This makes strong the relationships, because people appreciate authenticity, whether it is in friendships or romantic relationships. Honesty builds trust, and trust is the foundation of any strong relationship. Self-honesty also helps with personality and accountability. No-transcript you stop blaming external circumstances. You start focusing on what you can control. This shift in mindset is powerful. It is literally the difference between feeling stuck and feeling empowered.

Speaker 1:

Let me share a quick story from my own life, guys. In my podcast journey, I constantly switched between using a script and trying to speak off the cuff. I thought, why not? Most speakers prefer unscripted talk. I should too. But I underestimated my English language skills. I wasn't honest with myself, and the truth is I couldn't even listen to my own voice. After recording. I felt, let's say, a little bit ashamed you know what I mean and at the same time, I didn't really want to share my podcast with others because deep down, I knew I was overestimating a skill I didn't have yet. So I decided to stick with the script, but not just reading it. Not just reading it. I worked on adding soul to my words, improving my voice and adjusting my tone. I'm doing my best to reach the same level as others by improving different skills that can help me join the ranks of top speakers. I believe, of course, that with enough practice, I will eventually become fluent and able to speak freely as well. Okay, but for now, I know where I stand, and this journey of improvement through scripting allows me to provide real value to people, guys, and at the same time, align with my growth as well. So there is no really difference here. As much as I can grow and as much as I can give value to you guys, then it's okay, it's good like that.

Speaker 1:

There was a pivotal moment in my life when I experienced the transformative power of self-honesty. I had just gone through a tough time at work, feeling frustrated, and I kept telling myself that the problem was the workload. But after some reflection I realized that even if the workload wasn't ideal, I wasn't managing my time very well. So when you start a new job this is my advice, of course, my personal advice. So when you start a new job as an employer, you must first dedicate your energy and focus to that new position. In my case, however, my energy and focus were primarily directed towards my journey to success. Beautiful thing, of course. Romantic thing, I mean.

Speaker 1:

You know my podcast is about you guys, that you can realize your dream, you can achieve your success, and, especially in my case, I don't regret the time I spent on it. You know, focus on plan A, not plan B, go lean, there is no fallback, blah, blah, blah All these sentences that you hear every day from guru experts in social media, whatever, but enough, we know that plan a, not plan b, okay, but it's important to acknowledge that the moment you don't achieve your desired goal as you plan in the calendar because it is a big journey and no one mentioned this it is also the moment you lose your job Okay, something you need as a fuel for your journey to success. So, once I accepted this truth, I committed myself to becoming the best employee in my next job, ultimately earning the title of employee of the month for the entire company, I swear to God, and I literally became one of the best inside my company. Knowing I needed to focus on my work helped me, at the same time, understand the rational energy I still needed to invest in my journey. It worked perfectly because, gradually, I shifted my full energy that I was dedicating, you know, to my job, to my, let's say, employer job, back to my journey to success, to achieve my dreams. Let's be honest once you know exactly what to do in your job and you feel comfortable in that routine, you don't need to dedicate as much energy to it anymore. You know, of course, I'm talking about the employer job. So, when you know how to do your job, how to work, and as soon as you have all the skills you need. You don't really need to dedicate as much energy anymore. Truly.

Speaker 1:

So the moment I faced the true, everything changed, of course. So I stopped blaming external factors and started making changes in how I approached my work. It wasn't easy, of course, but it was the turning point I needed. So that moment of self-honesty allowed me to see the bigger picture and take control of my situation. I became more confident, more focused and, ultimately, more successful. So this experience taught me that being honest with yourself is not about being brutal or critical. It's about being kind to yourself by seeing reality as it is, not as you wish it to be. Only then you finally can take meaningful steps towards change.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now, guys, just to reassume. To sum up, self-honesty is a powerful tool for personal growth. It helps you understand who you really are, first of all, so your strengths, your weaknesses First of all, so your strengths, your weaknesses and your true desires. And when you are honest with yourself, you make better decisions as well, build stronger relationships and take responsibility for your actions. Yes, it can be uncomfortable sometimes to face the truth most of the times, but the rewards are worth it, trust me, are more than worth it. Self-honesty leads to self-awareness, and self-awareness is the foundation of success. It is the key to overcoming obstacles and moving forward on your journey to success.

Speaker 1:
