Did you know that 85% of people strangle with low self-esteem? So, according to a study by the National Association for Self-Esteem, 85% of people strangle with it. So what if I told you that confidence is not something you're born with, but something built over time, often ways no one else can see. So in today's episode, we're diving into this hidden journey of confidence. What does it take to really build it, and why do not we talk more about the strongholds behind it? Hi guys, my name is Fabio from Journey to Success and welcome.
Speaker 1:Confidence is one of those things we all admire, but we often only see the results Someone standing tall, speaking clearly or taking bold action right, speaking clearly or taking bold action right. What we don't see are the countless moments of doubt, failure, learning that lead up to that point. So confidence is like an iceberg you see the tip above the water, but beneath the surface there is a whole journey that nobody talks about. So today I want to show you that journey. Confidence is not built overnight, okay, and it's not something you just have or don't have. It's a process, a hidden path that many people walk, often without anyone realizing the effort they've put in. And that's what we're going to uncover together, but, of course, before to go forward, as always, please subscribe. Subscribe, so I know this is the right direction to take, to drive you, to lead you, to guide you towards your journey to success and let's go forward. All right, let's go forward.
Speaker 1:So one of the biggest misbelief about confidence is that people think it's something you are born with. Okay, you might look at someone successful and assume they've always been confident, but the truth is, confidence is often built through experience, failure and persistence, especially persistence my favorite one. Let's face it, guys, we have all felt that anxiety before giving a presentation, talking to someone important or making a big decision and so on. We think I'm not good enough, you know I'm not confident enough and believe that confidence should come naturally. So this belief can make us feel even worse, like we are liking something others seem to have effortlessly. But here is the reality Most people don't start confident. Confidence is built through trying, failing and learning along the way, and this is where the challenge lies. So many people get stuck because they don't realize this hidden journey, like is normal. You know, they see older and think I'll never be like that, without knowing the struggles that person went through to get there.
Speaker 1:Now let's explore some real-life examples. One famous case is Michael Jordan. People see him as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but what they don't often talk about is how many times he fell. Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team first of all, and of course, at the start he was, I think, the first person who thought that maybe wasn't enough for this world, for this journey. Imagine that A future NBA legend wasn't even good enough for his school team guys. But the truth is that he didn't give up. He used that failure to drive him and over time he built his confidence through hard work and practice.
Speaker 1:Another example is JK Rowling, the author of Harry Potter. She was rejected by 12 publishers before finally getting a book deal, so she had no confidence in her writing at first, but each rejection was a stepping stone. She kept going, despite the failures. She kept going despite the failures, and eventually her confidence grew with each small success Closer to home.
Speaker 1:Think about a time when you did something that scared you. Maybe it was giving a speech or starting a new job. At first it felt terrifying, right, but after you did it you realized it wasn't as bad as you thought. So each time you face a fear or a challenge, your confidence grows a little more. These moments are rarely seen by others, but they are also the foundation of true confidence.
Speaker 1:There is another important element to building confidence failure. Most of us are afraid of it. Okay, we avoid situations where we might fail because it makes us feel vulnerable or exposed, but failure is part of the process. I always say that. It teaches us, helps us grow and shows us that we are capable of. The key to confidence is not avoiding failure, but learning how to use it as a tool to become stronger.
Speaker 1:Okay, let me share a personal story. Okay, guys, so when I started my podcast, well, I would say I was confident enough, honestly. But sometimes I hear, you know that little voice say, you don't have the voice of Idris Elba or Morgan Freeman. You know something like that, truly. So I practiced ways to make my voice sound deeper and more engaging my, let's say, podcast voice. But still, I'm a native Italian speaker and I don't have the fluency of, you know, tony Robbins or other big names who speak with ease. But that's fine. I practiced with a script. So I have, honestly, here in front of me and I work to sound as natural as possible. So I kept going.
Speaker 1:With each, each episode, I improved and slowly I began to feel more confident in my voice. So I learned a lot during the way, and it didn't happen overnight. I'm still learning, I'm still practicing, but most people don't see the behind the scenes struggles. You know what I mean the headaches, the moments of desperation. Do I consider myself a mindset mentor? Oh, yes, absolutely. But I also consider myself a human being, and there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's the most beautiful thing in the world. Otherwise, you know, it would be compared to AI or the future robots of Elon Musk. You know what I mean. Anyway, I'm more comfortable now, not because it got easier, but because I grew through each challenge and today I'm here with you talking about it. Now, here is the breakthrough moment I want to share with you.
Speaker 1:Confidence is not about feeling confident all the time, guys. It's about showing up even when you don't feel ready. It's about taking that first step, even when you are afraid. One of the most powerful things I've learned is that confidence is a byproduct of action. So the more you do, the more you learn and the more you grow. Of course, there is no magic formula. No one wakes up one day and is suddenly confident. It doesn't work like that. It's built through the small, unseen efforts, through failures, setbacks and persistence. The moment you realize this, you stop waiting to feel confident before taking action. Instead, you take action and build confidence along the way. So let's recap what we have discussed today.
Speaker 1:Guys, confidence is not something you are born with. It's something you built. Most of what you see so the successful people, the confident speakers, the leaders is just the tip of the iceberg. Guys, they're not gods. They're human beings like you. Guys, they're not gods. They're human beings like you. What is hidden beneath the surface are the countless failures, strangles and the efforts that go unseen.
Speaker 1:So the next time you adapt yourself, remember that you are on a journey, the same journey as the people I mentioned before. It's okay to feel unsure or scared. That's fine. That's part of the process. Guys, confidence comes from doing, even when you don't feel ready. Now I would love to hear from you have you ever strangled with confidence? What is your hidden journey? So share your story in the comments below or message me directly. And if today's episode resonated with you, please share it with someone who might need to hear this message, so your support means a lot to me. This message, so your support means a lot to me. Thanks for everything, and thanks for joining me on Journey to Success. And remember confidence is built step by step, so keep going, even when no one is watching. Cheers.
